Acceptable Use Policy
Effective 13 October 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It says what you may send through Sendicorn and what we do when sending goes wrong. It covers every account, project and email, including email sent through the API and by AI assistants you connect: what they send counts as sent by you.
1. Who you may email
- Only people who asked to hear from you: they signed up on your form or page, or opted in when they bought from you, and know they will get your email. Keep a record of when and how each one agreed.
- Never bought, rented, shared or scraped lists, addresses copied from websites or directories, or lists from an event, partner or company you didn't run.
- A list you import follows the same rule. Leave out people who unsubscribed, bounced or complained with your previous email tool.
- If you haven't emailed a list for a year or more, ask its people to confirm before you send them campaigns.
2. Unsubscribes
- Every marketing email lets people leave. Sendicorn adds an unsubscribe link and one-click unsubscribe headers to campaigns, and to templates and automations sent as marketing. Don't remove, hide or break them.
- An unsubscribe takes effect at once: from that moment the person gets no more marketing email from that list. Don't add them back unless they sign up again themselves.
- Honour a request to stop that reaches you another way, such as a reply, just as quickly: unsubscribe the contact in the panel.
- Email sent through the API is for transactional messages, such as receipts, sign-in links and notices someone asked for. Send marketing as a campaign or a marketing template, so it carries the unsubscribe link and headers.
3. Honest email
- Send only from a domain you own or are allowed to use, under a name your readers will recognise.
- No deceptive headers: the From name and address, the Reply-To and the subject must be truthful and say who you are and what the email is about.
- No phishing, spoofing, or pretending to be another person, brand or organization.
- Say who sent the email, and include your postal address where the law asks for it, as CAN-SPAM does in the US.
4. What you can't send
You must not send, or link to:
- anything illegal where you or your readers are, or that promotes illegal activity;
- malware, phishing pages, or links that hide where they go;
- sexually explicit material, and anything that sexualises minors;
- hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that encourages violence;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- deceptive offers, such as get-rich-quick and pyramid schemes, fake prizes, and misleading investment, crypto or loan offers;
- illegal drugs, unlicensed online pharmacies, weapons sales, counterfeit goods, or gambling that isn't licensed where your readers are;
- email to people who didn't ask for it, whatever its content.
5. Keep your list healthy
- Keep every project's bounce rate under 5% and its complaint rate under 0.1%. Mailbox providers and Amazon SES, which sends our email, watch these numbers, and one sender above them hurts everyone's delivery.
- Marketing email has tighter limits. Sendicorn pauses a project on its own when, over the last 7 days and once it has sent at least 100 emails of that kind in that time, marketing bounces pass 2% or complaints pass 0.08%, or transactional bounces pass 5% or complaints pass 0.1%. Every pause stops marketing email; a pause for complaints, or for transactional bounces, stops transactional email too.
- Addresses that bounce for good or mark your email as spam are suppressed and aren't emailed again.
- Only we can resume a project that paused itself, after we look at what caused it with you. The one exception is a project that sends through its own AWS account: when its own sending caused the pause, its owners and admins can resume it.
6. What we may do
- We review each new account before it can send, and we may review any account, project, list or campaign at any time. We may ask how you collected your contacts and for proof that they agreed.
- Once approved, a new project that sends through our Amazon SES account starts under a low daily limit, which rises a step at a time only while its bounces and complaints stay low.
- We may throttle your sending by lowering a project's daily limit, pause a campaign or a whole project, or suspend or close an account that breaks this policy or puts deliverability at risk.
- We tell you why, unless the law or an ongoing abuse prevents it. When harm is ongoing, such as phishing or a sudden rise in complaints, we act first and explain after.
7. Reporting abuse
If you got email sent through Sendicorn that you never asked for, or see Sendicorn used for phishing or other abuse, write to [email protected]. Attach the email, or paste its full headers, so we can find the account that sent it. We look into every report and act on the sending account as section 6 describes.
To stop getting one sender's marketing email, use the unsubscribe link in it.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as email rules and risks change. If a change matters for how you send, we email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
